Sections

Sections were once the most popular way of producing comb honey. In the early 1950s, 2.5million wooden sections were regularly shipped to Ireland for comb production.

They are still the premium product for marketing comb honey.

The English section has a split top and takes the section square foundation.

A three-sided split type is also available and that is the Irish section. This uses 3 or 4 section length foundation, i.e. one sheet of foundation is slotted into 3 or 4 sections.
