Oliver Field    UK    87 pages   Hardback

A sparkling account of a commercial beekeeper’s year in all its changing moods.

In this book the author invites you to join him as he tends his apiaries around southern England. You will pick up a lot about beekeeping but you will also learn a great deal about our countryside, changing in farming methods, and the impact which this had on the wildlife.

Oliver Field has kept bees for thirty years, and has been making a living from them for most of that time.  He has a wide experience of bee farming including advising on bee farming projects outside Britain; and he has been responsible for running nearly one thousand hives on occasion. He worked with Chiltern Honey Farms, the business started by R.O.B. Manley; and he runs his own honey farming business, Field Honey Farms, in Berkshire.
