Introduction to Beekeeping 2018

Kennet Beekeepers Association are running a 14 hour  theory and practical course, taught by some of the county’s leading beekeepers

– including a bee farmer, a bee inspector and both Wiltshire Beekeepers County President and Chairman. It aims to help those wanting to:-

- Discover more about beekeeping - giving a greater understanding of our intricate system of plants and insects.

- Decide whether beekeeping is a suitable hobby. It is peaceful, requires planning, patience and attention to detail.

- Start beekeeping: the necessary equipment, time, money and skills are all covered in some depth.

It will be at Bishops Cannings, Devizes – Five theory meetings in the village hall on  Wednesdays 7.30 – 9.30pm –mostly on alternate weeks: February 21st., March 7th., 21st.,  April 11th.,  April 25th. 

The Two practicals are at the Club apiary nearby on Saturdays around mid-day for 2 hours  on May 5th. and May 12th.( with May 19th. as a  reserve  in case of inclement weather). 

The cost is £36.00 for existing Full or Country members OR £72.50 for the course with Country membership OR £84 for the Course with Full Club membership, giving a variety of benefits locally and nationally.
